#50PreciousWords Contest

March 7, 2018

Another fun contest!

This one comes from the amazing Vivian Kirkfield. The rules are simple. (The challenge is not!)

Write a story appropriate for children ages 12 and under, using no more than 50 words.

50 words. Yikes! That's not a lot of words. As it turns out, people can do some pretty impressive things with just 50 words. Check out Vivan's blog to take a look at the other entries.

And without further ado, and with a big thanks to Vivian for running this contest, here's my entry:

THE LIVING BOUQUET

(44 words)

She picked a flower for her mother.

It wilted.

She picked another.

It wilted.

So she led her mother to the garden.

There they stood, hand in hand, watching flowers bend, bumblebees bumble, a hawk circle above, and clouds transform from rabbits into sailboats.
